Two great ways to save for what you want + need.
Certified Federal Credit Union offers two ways to save while keeping your assets liquid so you may withdraw them at any time: share savings accounts and money market accounts.
Share Savings
When you become a member of Certified Federal, you become a part owner in the Credit Union. Your initial $5 deposit into your savings account establishes your “share.” Essentially, this account is your “one vote” that gives you an equal voice.
- $5 minimum opening deposit (and required minimum balance)
- No monthly fee
- Unlimited deposits and withdrawals
- Earns dividends
- Federally insured up to $250,000
Money Market Account
Money market accounts invest your balance in short-term U.S. government-insured investments or member loans. The rates they offer tend to be slightly higher than those on interest-bearing checking accounts, but they usually require a higher minimum balance to start earning interest. We do not have a minimum balance requirement.
